Dr. Jeff Donnelly has always been mechanically inclined and enjoys working with his hands. After being inspired by his childhood dentist, Dr. Donnelly realized he could use this skill to make a difference in the lives of others through creating beautiful smiles. Since joining the Hingham Dentistry team as an orthodontist in 2009, he has helped countless patients transform their teeth and improve their lives.
After receiving his B.S. in Biology from the University of Oregon in 1979, Dr. Donnelly went on to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he was a member of the Robert R. Andrews Research Honor Society before graduating with honors in 1983. Dr. Donnelly then completed a two-year, full-time orthodontic residency at Tufts, graduating as class president, and began his career in private practice.
Dr. Donnelly is an active member of the American Board of Orthodontics and is proud to be in the elite group of Board Certified Orthodontists, as less than 25% of members are certified. He is also a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Northeast Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and the South Shore District of Massachusetts Dental Society.
Besides orthodontics, Dr. Donnelly also specializes in dentofacial orthopedics and has been a premier Invisalign provider since 2000. As a longtime, dedicated sponsor of community youth athletic leagues, Dr. Donnelly has enjoyed the opportunity to provide programs for education and promotion of athletic mouth guards.
Dr. Donnelly has lived in Eastern Massachusetts for over 47 years, having spent the last 35 years on the South Shore. He currently lives in Pembroke with his wife Caryn, who is also a dentist. They are the proud parents of one daughter, Faith, who works as a senior graphic designer in Manhattan. Outside of work, Dr. Donnelly can often be found participating in a wide range of outdoor hobbies, including gardening and skiing. He is also a bit of a thrill seeker—he’s an instrument-rated private pilot and has a passion for high-performance car racing. He’s raced a vintage 1965 Mustang and is a driving instructor for local chapters of the BMW, Audi, and Porsche driving clubs. Dr. Donnelly has traveled to 43 of the 50 states as well as 15 foreign countries. He looks forward to more travel in his future.
